A Lock bound book is similar to that of a Perfect bound book in appearance, however, it will provide generally two or three times the strength of a Perfect Bound book. It is often used for publications that might be subject to frequent usage or when more difficult stocks are to be bound.
Khromatec has been Lock binding since January 2008 and this option does not incur any additional costs over Perfect or Burst binding. In fact, it is a very good alternative to the premium cost of PUR binding. Many of our customers who require the added strength and maybe don't have the budget to PUR are more than happy with this process, and why pay more to PUR when you have a similar strength for less cost.
With our binding machinery, we are able to offer a wide range of competitive prices for both short, medium and large runs. Our in-line binding facility provides for up to 16 sections, at run speeds up to 9,000 books per hour. Our off-line gathering and hand feeder stations can cater for the larger pagination publication. Along with our latest 2021 investment a book saw to allow for 2up book production.
